Story

2007-2021 Active Duty Navy, Command Master Chief (CMC), Senior Enlisted Leader/Advisor (the highest Enlisted leader rank)

  • Based on my service record I was recruited back to Active Duty by Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Michael Mullen, and Master Chief of the Navy, Joe Campa. ​

  • Member of a team of Commanding and Executive Officers responsible for ensuring policies and decisions related to mission, while also considering the impact on Sailors and their families.

  • As Command Master Chief awarded 4 Battle “E” awards for best performing commands. This is a coveted and prestigious organizational award given to best performing commands, with best mission, maintenance, retention and successful promotions.

  • As CMC spearheaded the transfer of squadron and families from Hawaii to Whidbey Island. This was a major, time-sensitive project involving over 300 people, to manage logistics for adequate hanger space for new aircraft

2001-2007 State of Oregon Employment Department, Field Office Manager

  • Serves businesses by recruiting and referring the best qualified applicants to jobs

 

1988-2007 Naval Reserves Logistic Management, Senior Enlisted Leader/Advisor during the Gulf War

  • Managed flight schedules carrying people and materials to Kuwait and to the ships.

  • Civil Service for the Navy served as a Budget Analyst, Financial Analyst and Business Finance Manager (Intern)

  • Managed a $43 million dollar budget, regulated by Congress, for R&D with the Naval Space and Warfare command. Consistently exceeded budgetary goals and efficiency. 

 

1975-1988 Active Duty Navy, Logistic Management, Leader 

  • Managed the finances for high-value aircraft parts and fuel.
