Story

I was hired by the Oregon Employment Department because of my understanding of how to strategically plan and effectively lead change. The department was getting ready to change their business model and way of filing claims and job seeking, and needed a strategic leader to manage change and implement the new model and systems. They designated my field office as the test bed for making these changes. I designed a strategic plan that was later sent out to all the Field Office Managers, helping them transition to new business models, implementing, and training staff, job seekers and employers on new software. This transition increased the efficiency of the Field Offices and allowed them to better serve the community as well as job-seekers.
