As a Field Office Manager of the Oregon Employment Department I was a member of the Workforce and Economic Development Boards. The mission of the Department was to grow good-paying jobs in local communities. The strategy was to partner with city colleges, and training centers to provide a skilled, well-qualified workforce that companies needed, in order to move their businesses to our community. While working with both boards my teams were able to create good local jobs – bringing in a major Transmission repair company, and a very large call center, each of which paid a living wage. I am proud to have achieved these results with a collaborative team that focused on the overall success of a community to realize the goals set by the board.
